All new homes with private wells
for drinking water must have their well water tested. A
laboratory certified by the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection (NJDEP) must sample and analyze
the water in accordance with the Hunterdon County Board
of Health requirements.
The Hunterdon County
law requires specific testing of the well water for a
variety of contaminants and chemical parameters where a
Certificate of Occupancy is required. Testing includes a
standard PWTA Parameter test (Total Coliform Bacteria,
pH, Iron, Manganese, Lead, Arsenic, Nitrate, Volatile
Organic Scan and Gross Alpha Analysis).
County or local testing
requirements exceeding those of PWTA may incur
additional charges.
PAS removes the aggravation of
water testing by offering the following services.
- Sampling 7 days a week by
appointment – days and evenings.
- Reports faxed and mailed to
the Burlington County HeaIth Department.
- Results in 1 to 5 working
days.
- Technical service and
Personal attention.
